"Echoes of Italy" solo exhibition by Wijdan, opening at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman on the 2 November 2011.

Throughout her five years in Rome, Wijdan added a new dimension to her paintings and installations that of Murano glass sculptures.  All the works are a continuity of her “Love Series” with their bright colours and calligraphic symbols replicating the word Hubb (Love) in its various forms and connotations.

During her five years in Italy, Wijdan held 2 exhibitions; the last was at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere.

The exhibition will run through January 5th 2012.

Intuition & Imagination by Ragnhild Lunden
Sunday, October 09, 2011 (271 reads)

Opening at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts on October 10th 2011, “Intuition & Imagination ” a solo exhibition by the Swedish artist Ragnhild Lunden.

“My pictures are abstract. They are pictures of me, composed like music of forms from my memories. In the meeting with your experiences in life, they may come alive and become unique.”

This is the artist statement of Ragnhild Lunden.  A statement that becomes very much alive when you are hit by the colorful power of Ragnhild’s paintings. Her recent works shown in feelings are more of a mirror image of the artist’s inner life. If you look carefully you might even discover pieces left from Ragnhilds days as a dentist.

Ragnhild lunden was born and works in Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. The work of ragnhild has a received a warm welcome around the world in various exhibitions, both separate and in group with other artists. In 2007 “Dance of Visions I” was exhibited at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. The exhibition was followed up by “Dance of Visions II” in Gothenburg, spring 2009. Leading artists from Jordan and Sweden wanted to show that art is a true cross cultural feeling bringing people of different ethnic background closer together.
It’s a great “FEELING”.

The exhibition will run through October 25rd 2011.

Ecology.Design.Synergy
Thursday, September 29, 2011 (289 reads)

Opening at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts the German exhibition "Ecology.Design.Synergy" from October 2-25, 2011 in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut in Jordan

Every day, the media reports an imminent climate disaster, melting ice-caps and the ever-increasing hole in the ozone layer. The problems we are about to face are overwhelming and we cannot offer comprehensive solutions. Nonetheless, we must work on linking future economic development and the exploration of the environment and nature in such a way that coming generations are not deprived of opportunities and development. This course of action is defined as sustainability. It is one of our most important tasks for the future, and it presents contemporary architecture with a particular challenge: what we build today, and the way we build it, will help determine the future.

In the exhibition, both common and company-specific projects are presented in an attempt to assess the results of previous collaboration, as well as perspectives for the future. Among the projects that will be displayed are the RiverParc Development in Pittsburgh, the Senscity Paradise Universe in Las Vegas/Nevada and the Norddeutsche Landesbank in Hanover.
The exhibition is the result of a joint effort between the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), the forum of architecture Aedes, and the Stuttgart-based architectural firms Behnisch Architekten and TransSolar ClimateEngineering. The two firms have been collaborating for many years in an endeavor to develop solutions for sustainable and responsible architecture on an international scale.

By orientating the arrangement to the sensuous perception of mankind, curator Frank Ockert illustrates that a sensitive and responsible approach to the man-made environment is not only a matter for experts, but for each individual person.
