Hiwar

Art Club

The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts launched the “Hiwar Art Club” which is held periodically, organizing lectures, seminars and meetings with artists and film screenings. The museum also organizes art workshops, musical events, and poetry readings in cooperation with various writers, artists and cultural institutions.

“Hiwar” is an educational art hub that gathers artists and interested people from various backgrounds to participate in group discussions on selected readings and screenings in addition to hosting guest speakers, in the hope of cultivating contemporary artistic and cultural awareness, and art appreciation among our joined members.

Hiwar Art Club is supervised by artist Khaldoun Hijazin.

Factory

Factory Platform is a project launched by the National Gallery in 2018 to meet its goal to open up to the local community in all its aspects and involve them in the creative process, In addition to putting the gallery on the map of international art.

The Platform is designed to give opportunities to youth to develop didactic strategies with the social network through fully promoting collaborative or participatory processes and projects in various fields of visual arts, music, theater, literature, contemporary dance and performing arts, through open calls to emerging art projects, art residencies, curatorial projects and street and public art.

The platform is designed and curated by Dr. Rocio Villalonga from Spain.

The Touring Museum

The Touring Museum project, launched in 2009 consists of a van that has been transformed into a mobile art gallery.

It aims to introduce the museum and its programs and objectives, increase cultural awareness and art appreciation, and discover young talents in the fields of visual arts, by conducting weekly visits to different cities and villages in Jordan, targeting schools, youth and cultural and social development centers. Each visit includes a presentation of works from the Permanent Collection in addition to workshops in drawing and painting.

The Touring Museum is a major project that has been an interest by local and international media. Since its launch, it has visited more than 400 rural communities.

Art & Nature Forum

The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts organizes forums entitled “Art and Nature” with the aim of introducing Jordanian artists to their environment and highlighting the natural, historical and touristic places in the various parts of Jordan. These forums benefit local residents in the areas visited through their participation in workshops with participating artists, and at the end of each forum an exhibition is held with works produced by the artists.

The International Sculpture Symposium

The Jordan National Gallery launched its International Sculpture Symposium In 2000 to be held every two years. At the beginning it was for Arab sculptors, however, since 2006 the participation expanded to an international level.

In 2018 it was decided to integrate this project under the umbrella of Factory Platform, as part of Public Art- IN/OUT Project.
